    Hello Soo Dance Family,

We want you to know how much we appreciate your continued patience during this extremely difficult time. We want to keep in contact with you as much as we can, and continue to work tirelessly toward a solution to get your dancers back in the studio as soon as it is possible to do safely, in keeping with the guidelines of the CDC.

This Thursday 4/30 we will not be able to host our planned Zoom class, as the studio is going to be deep cleaned. The ballet barre, dance flooring, and carpets are all being professionally sanitized to make our dance studio safe and look its very best! Our next Zoom class will be offered on May 7th with Miss Mimi for Jazz.

    Spring Showcase/Don Quixote Update

The Las Positas College Performing Arts Venue is offering to move our 5/16 event date to later in the year instead of canceling. This date is yet to be determined. The Tutu Tickets that have already been purchased and all previously paid event costs will go toward this later date.

With everything that has been invested into your kids’ training, choreography, costumes, etc. we want to give you all the answers to your questions as soon as possible. Communication is of the utmost importance to us. We also understand that many of your families as well as our faculty at Soo Dance have lost income during this time and we empathize with the heartache and uncertainty that this is causing. We understand that you all have been trying to manage an entire new process of education while also juggling financial issues, kids being home, and homeschooling. Overwhelming does not begin to describe it! We’re constantly thinking of our students and Soo Dance families, and wishing you all health and peace while we’re all staying safe at home! Please reach out to us if there is anything we can do to assist you during this time. We cannot wait to be together again!

Attached below is a video Soo has compiled of some memories when we were all together!

    Happy International Dance Day!

    Summer 20 (June1st – July 25th)

    Hello Soo Dance Family!

Now that we’re in the stages of phasing out the shelter-in-place order, we’ve come up with a plan for our Summer 2020 term. The schedule is live and available on Studio Director. Please review the information below, and feel free to contact us with any further questions.

Soo Dance will offer both VIRTUAL classes and in-studio classes. Virtual and in-studio tuition will be the same price.

Make sure to sign up soon as possible, due to limited number of in-studio student slots. There is a maximum number of 8 students per (in-studio) class.

Some of the additional changes we’re making to ensure the safety of our students and faculty:

    • Classes will be held at our San Ramon location in Studio A where we have the ability to open windows for airflow throughout the class.
    • There will be 15 minute breaks between each scheduled class, to minimize the number of dancers in the studio
    • After each class, the floor and barres will wiped down during the break
    • Parents will not be permitted in the studio to watch class. On time drop-off and pick-up is imperative.
    • For Ballet classes, there will be one student per barre
    • Each dancer will be required to attend with their own mask, gloves, and their own filled reusable water bottle
    • Makeups will not be allowed for in-person classes. If a student misses a class, it can be made up through a virtual class

Those who have exhibited symptoms consistent with COVID-19, or have family members that have contracted the illness, are ineligible for our in-studio program in order to maintain the safety of our students and faculty. If your dancer is ineligible, we welcome them to continue their dance education from the comfort of your home through our virtual classes!

    Symptoms associated with COVID-19

    – Fever

    – Cough

    – Shortness of breath/difficulty breathing

    – Chills/shakiness

    – Muscle pain

    – Headache

    – Sore throat

    – New loss of taste or smell

    Thanks for sticking with us!
We miss you all, stay safe & healthy,

    Best Regards,

    Soo Park

  • April 2020

    Hello SDCA Family!

We miss all our dancers so much and we hope everyone is staying safe and healthy! With the extension of the shelter-in-place order, we will be postponing in-person classes for the month of April and will await more news to set a date to reopen the studio. We will make final announcements regarding the Spring Showcase/Don Quixote Performance as soon as we have more information from the Livermore venue. From our previous emails, you know that everyone’s Studio Director account has been “frozen”, meaning we have not proceeded with any charges since the enactment of the shelter-in-place order. This will continue to be the case, and we will not be collecting any tuition until we resume regular classes. This will be carried out automatically, no action is required on your end.

For those of you who have chosen to pay for tuition for the year or 5 months upfront; the tuition for the months that the studio is closed will be credited for future months of tuition.

In the meantime, we’d love to stay connected with you! We’ll be holding free live recreational classes through Zoom while the studios are closed, so we can stay connected with all of you! The classes will be geared toward intermediate-level students, but we’d love to see all our dancer’s faces even if it’s just to watch! You can join the Zoom meetings with or without video and audio. During classes, we ask that you mute your microphone (unless you have a question), so background noise isn’t an issue. Zoom meetings will be open to sign in 15 minutes before the designated start time.

Making a Zoom account is free and easy: https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362033-Getting-Started-on-Windows-and-Mac
